Harry James Angus' Sunday Gospel

Harry James Angus is best known as a founding member and lead vocalist of The Cat Empire, one of Australia's most beloved and internationally successful live bands. A singer, trumpeter, guitarist and composer from Melbourne, he's been playing music professionally since his early teens and has performed everywhere from Glastonbury to the Hollywood Bowl.

In recent years, Angus has been developing new and unexpected projects. His live project Struggle With Glory transposes classical Greco-Roman myths into a surreal world of old-time jazz. His 2025 Gospel Sunday events — where he leads communal singalongs of gospel-influenced secular songs — became one of the year's most joyous recurring events in Brunswick.

His DINGO show, Gloryland, is his most celebratory proposition yet: Harry Angus leading a full band through an uplifting, roof-raising set designed to bring a crowd together in the spirit of shared music. Expect joy.
